A few images which were previously federated seem to have disappeared. Any idea what happened to them?

Awesome! Thanks for keeping this sh*t just working!
I still see separate upvote and downvote tallies, but they’ve moved from next to the voting buttons to the top line of the comment.
Are we back?
Awesome! Thanks, Dude! Keep us posted!
Do let us know when we can donate as well. While I appreciate your continued generosity, I would feel more confident in the long-term future of the server if the financial costs were decentralized a bit. It would be nice to know that the future costs are covered for the next x months/years.
Lemmy is currently expecting pict-rs 0.5.something which should already have the feature mentioned.
That’s awesome! Any idea what the tentative timeline is, or links to where we can track the progress towards rollout?

Tagging a couple admins for their thoughts. Is this feasible?
Yes, this could be quite entertaining.
Thanks for noting this.
Thanks for your detailed answers!
A4: Possible, I would think. No idea if that’s ever on the devs’ roadmap. I think that would be added to the pict-rs code which is then used by the lemmy server.
I came across these discussion threads in the Lemmy and Pict-rs source code:
Is it possible that automatic compression has already been implemented? Might it just be a matter of passing an additional argument to pict-rs?
Yeah, just like multiple small instances are more resilient than one large instance, I think funding from multiple small donors would be more resilient than one large donor.
Rabbits engage in coprophagy to extract more nutrients using their short digestive tracts. Is this analogous to training ML models on AI-generated output?
Last year’s canvas was 1000x1000, but this year’s is only 500x500. The influx of users from the Rexxit a year ago has died down a bit, but I feel like the remaining users are more active. It will be interesting to see how this year goes.
Did you ever participate in r/place?
It’s pretty much the same thing. Each user can place a pixel every few minutes, and over a few days, an artwork appears.
This was the 2023 result:
Yeah, that’s the name of the character, but not the comic strip.
Had you linked to your email to your account before you forgot your password? If not, I don’t think the password reset page will do anything. If it did, anyone could steal accounts just by entering their own email.
Happy cake day!
Praise the admins! Thanks for a great year, and here’s to the next one! Thanks for givinig me a home away from Reddit.
Big thanks to the instance admins on here for giving me a home away from Reddit over the past year!
Highlights? Watching my communities grow from nothing to fairly active over the past year.
Lemmy as a whole has also grown and stabilized nicely. I went from browsing /all out of boredom to having difficulty keeping up with the posts in my subscribed feed.
Hear’s to the next year!
Where is paid_not_payed bot when we need them?
I can’t find any at the moment, and my original example seems to have resolved itself. If I come across any others, I’ll send them your way.
