Thanks for the input. I wrote PDFs, but it might be possible to get another format. Check the other comment.
As for Pocketbook, which model do you have? Is there anything you dislike about it? Would you buy it again or seek alternative? Thank you.

OK, thank you for noting that. Never thought about it. My local library hands out free e-books of classic old literature so it might be available in other formats too. I grabbed some PDFs, because it was easiest to open in PC or android. Will check it out.
What e-reader should I buy, when I don’t want to use amazon (or similar) services to log in/buy/transfer books to the reader?
I have plenty of free old PDF books I simply want to copy there and be able to read them without ads and online bs.
I don’t need web browser, mp3 player, spotify, google translator or other such nonsense. I need simple controls, backlight (adjustable) to read at night and that’s basically it.
Thanks for any input.
Indeed, just check some PD charger specs, there are usually all the different volt/amp readings the charger can produce.
My cheap(ish) phone has ~30W charger too. It’s something like 2,5A/12V or 1,5A/18V, which is pretty common these days. I believe I’ve seen phones with up to 100W charging capability (not sure about longevity though).
Amarok -> Clementine -> Strawberry
Love me some Red Dwarf!
It depends on how expensive it is.
I remember when SSDs came out they were horribly expensive to the point no sane non-billionaire customer would even consider one. And look at the prices now.
My colleague likes it and use it all the time. He doesn’t really care about privacy and he often brings up cool features telegram has, like simple photo/video editor, shrink tool for media, newsfeed, etc. Which all seems quite polished and very usable. If only it wasn’t such a mess in its core.
I’ll politely hijack this thread to ask: What’s wrong with lemm.ee? In all seriousnes.
I came to lemmy after the other site fiasco and found lemm.ee to be the most stable, fastest and also not defederated site at the moment for me. So i’m genuinely interested if it grew bad rep nowadays or something? Thank you.
Most of the remaining space is used by porn obviously…
