Nothing has really changed unless you just didn’t run the latest software on your phone. The series 8 was the first watch in a long time that needed a newer phone. But they’ve always required the latest iOS.

Good news! They’ve been spying on you for well over 20 years at this point.

Basically every phone made in the last 5 years will charge at over 5v for “quick charging”.

The USB is typically only up to 3 amps max at any voltage less than 20.

They don’t even need to win the case. They just need to bully the smaller person until they go bankrupt and shut down.

And just because a laptop has a trackpad doesn’t mean people don’t use them with their laptops. Our office is 90% Macbook pro and of those users only 10% use a trackpad (the external bluetooth one at that, not even the built in one)

Apple sells 0 mice with 90% of their computers, the iMac is the only model that comes with any external peripherals besides a charger. The Mac mini has always been a “bring your own keyboard and mouse” type device, and the Mac Pro/Studio are for people who probably already have a keyboard and mouse.

That’s kind of the crux of a lot of these things. The instructions make it look really simple to install, but if you’ve never done this before then I could understand it being confusing. There was this teeny tiny line in the middle of some pictures that says someone will help you set them up I think.

I’d probably suggest having a dedicated machine. You don’t need anything fancy, I’d imagine any old laptop should do.

It’s essentially software to convert your machine into a basic web server, so if the laptop disconnects now nobody can download your stuff. And I assume you don’t keep your laptop on 24/7

The M1 pro reused the Intel Pro’s chassis and the Air reused the Intel Air’s chassis.

Intended doesn’t mean that they are. The left side is definitely better than the right, and they get really high CPU usage when charging/using their monitor with their right side USB ports instead of the left.

They didn’t remove anything. They just uses the same chassis from the “2 port” macbook pro/Air for the M1 Pro and Air.

All laptops have their wireless antennas in the lid of the laptops. MacBooks included.

The amount of RF generated by some devices is insane.

That’s mostly what I used my pro 7 for, but even that it struggled with. With nothing else running doing RDP I get 2-3 hours of battery life which is just awful. And if I try to do widi or just about anything at all on the screen I get closer to an hour of battery life until the throttling sets in and it’s unusable. Thank god the pro 8 added a fan for all models.

Hows battery life on the go 4? I have a surface pro 7 which is neither fast, nor gets good battery life so it’s pretty useless to me.

A pro 9 with the P cores turned off or go 4 would actually be a pretty neat device for me.

I ran 1280x800 and 1366x768 for years and hated it. After the retina MBP came out and embarrassed everyone I vowed I’d never go back.

1080p is the minimum I’ll do at this point for a modern device.

To me it’s less about the PPI and more the ability to fit things on the screen.

1280x800 is just small enough that that certain elements might not fit on the screen. Or if they do they just barely fit with no wiggle room. 1920x1200 is probably unreadable to even freaks like me (I run 150% scaling on a 16” 4K display) but it gives me the option to turn off/down scaling and actually fit things when needed.

The Pad 4A is a bit more interesting to me. 1280x800 is really awful in 2023. But the pad 4A has a 10" 1920x1200 display which would be so much nicer in a small form factor laptop.

Users don’t want to buy into a platform with no apps. Devs don’t want to make apps for a platform with no users. It’s a catch 22.

Everything windows does Android would do better, and android has apps. But Android tablets don’t even sell that well.
