Incoming lawsuit from companies using slack channels with proprietary code or PII…this is not going to end well for slack.
Well that’s shitty. We need Mr. Rogers to rise like jesus and fix it.
True, I don’t know how this would work for international stuff, but this is human knowledge and history, it’s something we should be archiving and not tossing to the wind.
They need to be publicly funded like we do with PBS. They’re to great of a resource to have corporations trying to destroy them.
Watch out, the sole admin, will ban people for not having a circle jerk over there. If you have any disagreement with anything, you’re getting banned.
From what I’m seeing online is they’re affiliated with RT but it looks like Gavin owns the company.
When the hell did that happen? That’s crazy. They seem to be still doing videos, so there must be some sort of split.
Slo mo has nothing to do with RT I thought? Always assumed that was Gavin and Dan’s creation, and was around even before Gavin showed up to RT.
I’m waiting for the class action lawsuit on this.
A large number of subs were forceful reopened, and the mods replaced with trash people who just wanted to have mod powers. The purge of people who gave a fuck, is done. I’m starting to see posts and news show up here on Lemmy before reddit. Which kinda makes sense, all the most active posters were forced out or quit and moved here.
I like to explain it like email or even phone providers. You can call someone on Verizon even if you’re on ATT but you can’t pay Verizon for your ATT bill
I don’t want the gov. Touching the Internet. You’re asking for a bad time if you do. Commercializing the Internet is from people using it as such. Build your own site and host it. The enshittification is coming not just from the companies that created/own these sites, it’s the people who use them as well.
That I agree with, the other thing that kills me is multiple communities of the same topic just in different servers.
This is one of the main things keeping a lot of us around I think. It’s not just repost bots of shit I’ve seen 5 times in a month.
Yep, and the portable part sounds great but if i need a portable monitor I’m going to just use a laptop. $850 is 49" ultra wide territory.
