Just another Reddit refugee

Totally depends on the challenge of the project - and it follows a bell curve. Too easy and it’s annoying, too difficult (or takes too long) and it’s fucking aggravating. But those rare Goldilocks projects that are a challenge but shit just clicks along? Chefs kiss.
Three wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner.
Yeah I just saw a post over there, the admin fucked up his configs. Hopefully he gets it sorted soon if he’s moving the “official” /r/3dprinting sub to his own instance. 🤷♂️
I updated my main post, looks like searching by !community@instance fails, searching by the full url works, which is not what default sidebar directions say to do lol.
How? I was able to get subscribed to !makerstuff@lemmy.world and !3DPrinting@kbin.social once they showed up in the community search (after searching by the url), but I still can’t see !3d_printing@forum.rhombik.com in order to subscribe to it.
I expect the same. 🤞
Same. Lots of growing pains! That’s ok though, it’ll all get sorted. And a silver lining might be that these growing pains help filter out the low-effort riff-raff maybe.
Good to know it’s not just me, thanks
And if you really want to interact with beehaw, just go make another free account over there.
IF they’ll let you in.
Test post please ignore
Good to know. I’m sure there’s a metric shitton of QoL improvements like that in the pipe, along with multisubs, account (and community) migration, etc. I don’t envy the devs - lemmy wasn’t ready for this lol. I’m excited to see where it grows from here though!
I agree. While they might have the larger communities (for now), they seem to have also absorbed the worst kind of judgmental pricks from Reddit. I was just thinking to myself earlier that Lemmy needs a way to block instances at the user level.
Yeah, they’re still there for me even when sorting by top, unfortunately.
And I can’t use Jerboa because I’m on an iPad (which also makes the Mlem client problematic for now, they don’t have iPad scaling yet - but I can confirm that the problem does not occur in the app)
So that leaves me with the good ol’ webpage. /sad (lol)
That’s ok though! I understand it’s early days for Lemmy, and the fix is on the way! I can be patient to kick Reddit squarely in the nuts 😁
Good to know, thanks!
Honestly, this would be a non-issue if we could block instances at the user level. Since they’re not federated yet, and User-level instance blocking should be coming, I say we wait and see.
