I’ve seen a 36 inch 3-color one, but I can’t find the supplier anymore. It’s used for signage. I honestly don’t know why this isn’t a bigger thing for signage.

It’s one of those situations where corporations get to pull similar bullshit, so they think actual humans get to use the same tricks, too.

They’ve also got much better lifespans, being able to cycle many more times with less capacity loss. As they currently stand, they’re much better choices for stationary storage applications. I am actually glad about it. Lemmy represents a fundamentally different model for how to organize and pay for an online social network. It turns out that you don’t have to monetize socializing if you don’t want to. The worse Reddit becomes the more people will look for an alternative and the more people will be exposed to the concept of “maybe we can just chip in for server costs when we can” as a way of running social media.

I’m not a programmer but I took a class in JavaScript. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you mean by reference, I don’t recall that feature of the language. Can you explain?
