I really hope it all gets solved to your satisfaction! The folks around the Mastodon project really seem to want to keep things good. I’m not a Zuck fan either. Looking at some of the people Threads is using as standard bearers, Jack Posobiec and that group, it’s unlikely the Threads instance will satisfy the criteria for Federation anyway. :)

The trouble with having a federated server containing a lot of users/communities promoting bigotry is that it dirties the name of Lemmy. The dirtying dissuades people from joining. It ultimately helps ONLY the group causing the dirtying and harms the majority.
