Thanks for the insight. Always interesting to hear when people with an inside view can chime in.
Hey, thanks Dude for your reply! I’m glad to hear this instance isn’t affected and y’all already pushed a fix. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks for the heads up!
Buzzword grifting. Nothing particularly new. They’ll take donations and never deliver a final product. Probably stay infinitely in development before being swept under the rug.
Thank you! I’ve been wondering about the mismatch in subscriber count for a while. However I’ve noticed there seems to be sync issues where content on for example again memes@lemmy.ml may have one stream of memes on hot or new, then you switch to a sh.itjust.works account and there’s a completely different feed. Tho after a couple hours the content will show up, so it may be a long delay.
Good to know the subscriber count doesn’t mean a community is missing instance subscribers
Well now I really have no clue then
What client are you running Lemmy in? Memmy, Liftoff, Thunder, and Mlem all have the same issue, but only with sh.itjust.works. Wefwef doesn’t seem to have a problem, but it is a web based client so maybe it’s different? Tho the other day wefwef had the same problem, but I don’t think I saw an update between yesterday and today, so I’m not sure what changed.
My best guess so far is it’s a client side issue, tho since it’s affecting multiple clients I’m not sure if I should raise the issue with the app dev instead since it seems to be more contained to the instance. Probably mix of the two is the cause.
Your probably right.
I think the instance update broke compatibility with apps that haven’t updated yet to match the instance.
Logging into lemmy.world in Memmy has no issue.
As of this morning, logging into wefwef with sh.itjust.works seems to work fine. All my subscriptions appear there.
So it may be an inconsistency between the app, and the server’s update that prevents the display and search of certain communities.
Yeah all my subscriptions just disappeared from my sidebar. Deleted Memmy and reinstalled it and I noticed the rules now show sh.itjust.works no longer allows user created communities. Maybe that has something to do with it? I know there was issues with accounts spam creating communities earlier this week.
I had to wait some time before it came through. But my email service is always slow as fuck for verification type things so I’m used to it. So maybe keep waiting? Mine took probably 30 minutes.
